چکیده
Abstract Background Radiation therapy (RT) plays a central role in management of nervous system disease, particular the multimodality low(er) and high-grade CNS gliomas. New strategy that involved Proton Therapy (PT) have been experienced last years. No data are available about re-surgery lesion irradiated with protons. Material Methods We reviewed our single Unit experience Lower-Grade Glioma patients received, their neuro-oncological history, treatment PT. collect clinical data, intra-operative findings, histopathological features oncological outcome after surgery. Results collected three cases young an IDH1-mutated tumor underwent to (PT). In two PT was performed due progression one case as adjuvant first surgical treatment. all we surgery within years All complained drug resistant epilepsy symptom relief patient spine fracture corticosteroids intake control radionecrosis’s symptoms pre-operative work-up 11-C-Methionin PET scan revealed increase tracer uptake suspected area progression. advanced MRI protocol PWI further distinguish sample pseudoprogression gliosis necrosis find at histological examination. Conclusion Our experience, although limited case, provided radiological example small cohort Prothon Radiotherapy. Clinical presentation heterogenous except poor seizure control. Despite time elapsed since PT, areas radionecrosis were found samples 2/3 patients. Moreover, need more draw complete picture this complex field.
